“The Girl Next Door”.

This movie was released in 2004 and was directed by Luke Greenfield. This movie can be basically being described as a teen comedy. This movie tells the story of Matthew Kidman (Emile Hirsch) who has great plans for the future. He aims to study in a university by getting a scholarship. He starts to date his new neighbor Danielle (Elisha Cuthbert). Later he gets the knowledge that she is an ex- porn star. Events take such a turn that a short of breakup happens between them and she leaves for a new city with his ex-boyfriend porn producer Kelly (Timothy Olyphant). But the cupid still remains in his heart…. So he follows Danielle and fate plays all short of things for them. Kelly plays all short of games against Mathew. He looses the scholarship and finds himself in a lot of mess. What happens next is something that you have to see in the movie.

The movie is at best described as a teen comedy and I think that there is too much of glamour associated with the porn industry. This is something that should not be encouraged. Well as for the story of the movie there are some parts that are good but some parts seem to be just average. The performances are average. And overall the movie is just OK to watch. Not much things are to be expected from this movie.

“Shallow Hal”

Released in 2001, this movie is directed by Farrelly brothers. This movie is a romantic comedy. This movie is the story of two friends, Hal Larson (Jack Black) and Mauricio Wilson (Alexander). They both have the habit of wooing beautiful women. Well it was during the death of his father that Hal resorted to the habit of wooing all those girls who were physically beautiful. Then he comes in contact with a self help personality who is Tony Robbins. It happens so that Tony does some magic and hypnotizes such that Hal will only be able to look after the inner beauty of the girls. So he marries to an extremely obese lady, Rosemary. Then after some days Hal looses his hypnotic effect. Well you have to watch the movie to see what happened next.

I think that the movie was expected to be comedy but instead it turned out to be an emotional movie. It is made with a message within itself about the inner beauty of the individuals.

“There’s Something About Mary”

This movie was released in 1998 and was directed by the Farrelly Brothers.

Ted (Ben Stiller) has a prom date with Mary (Cameron Diaz) whom he fancies a lot. But the date goes to a premature end with a zipper misgiving. Years pass by but his love for Mary does not end. He then hires a private detective to track about her. The role of the private detective is played by Pat Healy (Matt Dillon). He tracks her down and finds out that he is working as an orthopedic surgeon. Well the story takes a different turn with Pat Healy falling in love with Mary. He tries a lot to woo Mary. Well now the story takes some amazing turns and you have to watch out the movie to know what it hold next.
